What is Art, anyway? Daca ne uitam pe Wikipedia, aflam ca arta este in esenta cea mai profunda expresie a creativitatii umane. Pe cat de dificil de definit, pe atat de dificil de evaluat, avand in vedere faptul ca fiecare artist isi alege singur regulile si parametrii de lucru, se poate spune totusi ca arta este rezultatul alegerii unui mediu, a unui set de reguli pentru folosirea acestui mediu si a unui set de valori ce determina ce anume merita a fi exprimat prin acel mediu pentru a induce un sentiment, o idee, o senzatie sau o traire in modul cel mai eficient posibil pentru acel mediu.

An art exhibition opening in the Netherlands will allow people to call a telephone number designated for God - but they will have to leave a message.

Dubbed God's Hotline, it aims to focus attention on changes to the ways Dutch people perceive religion.

Dutch artist Johan van der Dong chose a mobile phone number to show that God was available anywhere and anytime, Radio Netherlands reported.

The Armory Show – now in its 11th year, and named after the 1913 art fair that brought Marcel Duchamp and modern art to New York – is actually expanding rather than contracting. In addition to the 177 contemporary galleries (17 more than last year) in pier 94, which juts out into the near-freezing Hudson river, this year the adjoining pier 92 plays host to the "Armory Show – Modern": 68 galleries, many with that unnerving suffix "fine art" to their names, selling older, less edgy but more established work. A Lucian Freud is being sold here for an ambitious $14m at Faurschou gallery (and was unsold as of last night). The Armory Show figures it needs to start appealing to the older money – as well as the young collectors with Wall Street bonuses, so common in recent years.
