În fiecare marți și joi, între 23 ianuarie și 23 februarie, Dumitru Gorzo va umbla (3 ore/zi) pe străzile din Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens și Bronx îmbrăcat într-o haină superbă din dantelă verde și ciment. Nu e o glumă, e proiect

ul lui Naomi Safran-Hon, artista care lucrează cu cimentul ca și cum ar picta. Preferă acest material, spune ea, pentru că reflectă modul în care viața ei a fost “modelată de realitatea politică”.

“Defensive Shield”, cum se numește proiectul la care colaborează și Gorzo ca reprezentat al International Museum of Contemporary Culture (IMOCC) – creat de el împreună cu Irina Protopopescu, proprietara galeriei newyorkeze Slag – face trimitere la operațiunea militară din 2002 condusă de armata israeliană în teritoriile palestiniene o

cupate cu scopul de a încerca oprirea atacurilor teroriste, în special a atentatetelor sinucigașe.

Dumitru Gorzo s-a întors de la New York cu o perspectivă diferită asupra galeriilor de artă româneşti şi asupra destinului său artistic.
